Tourist resort Škrapavac is located between Privlaka and tourist resort Zaton (1km) . It’s located on a large, flat peninsula . On all three sides Privlaka is surrounded by crystal sand and divine beaches. Privlaka is the most important link between the oldest Croatian royal town of Nin in the north and the island of Vir in the west.
Privlaka in written documents, is first mentioned in 1296 as a winegrower location. The name has changed over the centuries: Brevilaqua, Privilacha, Priulacha… to a form which we know today.
Privlaka is known for Ludrum, fishing traditions, which are passed down for decades from generation to generation. Along the harbor to the west, a promenade runs around almost the entire peninsula, and offers an unforgettable sunset.
The place is known for Sabunjars, which have become widely known for painstaking digging of sand from the sea, and after the second World War they built a white city of Zadar that is located only 15 minutes away. Their wooden ships (coasters, bracera and leut) were used to transport sand along the Croatian coast. Sabunjars left a deep mark in Privlaka way of life.
Today Privlaka is a tourist destination, due to its numerous sandy beaches. In its wide variety of tourist property Privlaka can offer its beautiful sandy beaches, shallow and warm waters and it is most suitable for families with children.
